Fourteen days ago there was a forest. Green and cool, filled with trees, rare plants, animals of all kinds. It was very beloved by the people in the area. Then on an extremely hot and dry day a big company decided it was ok to send an employee to do some soil scarification in the area. One huge machine, one man, and one tiny portable fire extinguisher… App. 15 square kilometers is still burning. This is, according to Swedish media, probably the outcome of big scale forestry in combination with climate changes.
This is what an old Swedish forest normally looks like. Photographer unknown.
