Architects Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune share a passion for small functional everyday objects. After working together for twenty years they’ve now started their own brand called Smaller Objects. The first collection highlight the aesthetic value of the everyday object and celebrates simplicity of form and material. The objects are manufactured at factories in Sweden, Finland, Poland and Portugal. To achieve a sustainable production Smaller Objects collaborates with manufacturers who knows natural and endurable materials, avoid using chemicals and, in the case of ceramics, recycle the vaste from the production. The coasters are made of natural soapstone from Finland and the wood is untreated, massive beech. The down/feather filling of the cushion comes from dead ducks, but if it is certified or not it doesn’t say. The same goes for the wool fabric.
