E27

Designed by Mattias Ståhlbom for Muuto (2008) E27 has become an icon of Contemporary Scandi design. The naked bulb, the industrial look, the materials and the colours appeal to young as well as old… This lamp is like an aalto stool; it doesn’t matter if you’ve seen it a hundred times, it is still interesting with its simplistic design and modern feel. Matthias Ståhlbom is a partner at the Stockholmbased architecture and design studio TAF. TAF are right now working on a new bar, restaurant and café for the Swedish National Museum in Stockholm, a very interesting commission where TAF collaborates with fab designers Matti Klenell, Carina Seth Andersson and Stina Löfgren. The National Museum closed in 2013 for renovation, and will re-open in 2018.
