Scandia by Kaj Franck

During the mid 50s Kaj Franck changed the standard for Scandinavian cutlery in a small but revolutionary way. His Scandia series were produced in stainless steel, made in Finland and deliberately multifunctional. Franck changed the traditional form of the spoon, making it rounder and deeper. The fork got its teeth flattened and broadened. The coffee spoon was made larger. And so on. Scandia become extremely popular over a span of 40 years. It’s very nice to see Scandia i production again, now by Iittala.
