Asplund 25 years

In the late 1990s a small family business from Stockholm gained world wide attention when they insisted on redefining the classic Scandinavian style into what they called ”a friendly minimalism”. It was sleek and cool and stylish. And a bit opportunistic too. But the collection had what was later known as the Asplund look. During the years Asplund has collaborated with a wide range of gifted designers to establish the brand as one of the most influential contemporary Swedish brands. The main bulk of production is still handmade in Sweden, in natural or durable materials. Focus lays on a minimalistic play with sophisticated colours and unexpected meetings between materials, always emphasizing the fine detail.
During Stockholm Design Week a special 25-year anniversary catalogue will be released.
Here´s a sneak-peak from the publication. Get your own copy for free, at Asplund.

Winter walk

It’s winter and it’s cold. But as it is a holiday stockholmers of all ages goes for a walk. The art of taking a walk during wintertime include some important precautions: 1: See to wear your best mittens, they will be noticed. 2: Check out which café is open, so you can head for a fika. Fika = strong coffee and a cinnamon bun.
Most certainly the walking in itself will be brief and without much talking.
No strolling around. No chatting.
Its too cold.
And the mittens…? They´re on everyones hand! Often in combination with an otherwise trendy outfit.

Think pink!

We´ve got a soft spot for soft pink. Let it be pale or with a sting. Pink is never far away from the core of interior vs fashion, or adult vs child. Try it!
